The film
An ongoing film collaboration with The Village Dance Academy, where light, music and camera movement elevate Sockeye's choreography into cinematic screen language.
The approach
The 2023 and 2024 Sockeye films used the KFS stage as a controlled performance space, opening with hands, shadows and precise backlight before the full routine begins. Across the Sockeye films, bold colour, camera movement, shadow play and edit rhythm support the dancers' elegance and skill instead of simply documenting the stage.

Collaboration
A dance-film language built over multiple years.
The Sockeye pages now keep The Village Dance Academy and the annual performer/choreographer lists in the film descriptions and source records rather than displaying the names as a crew-style website block. That keeps the public page readable while still respecting the full end credits attached to each annual render.
On JAF, the useful angle is James's authorship of the screen language: direction, cinematography, editing, light, camera movement and rhythm across a youth performance collaboration that grew more ambitious each year.
